At the time of his birth, the famous smile of Stallone was the result of the forceps injury. In the accident, a nerve was injured which led to him to have slurred speech. Stallone had a difficult childhood. He and Frank his older brother, were both affected as children by the conflicting parent-child relationships, that eventually led to divorce. Stallone had his early years living in foster home. Stallone aged five years oldwhen he relocated with his family to Washington, D.C., which is where his father began his own company of beauty salons. Stallone resided in Maryland for many years, but stayed with his father following the parents' divorce in 1957. He had a difficult time mentally and academically being a victim of bullying, and had to abandon many schools.
